Smile

I still remember the night we met
You said you loved my smile
But your love for me was like a summer breeze
Oh it lasted for a while
I could hold on a little tighter I know
But when you love someone, you gotta let 'em go

So I'm gonna smile
'Cause I wanna make you happy
Laugh,
So you can't see me cry
I'm gonna let you go in style
And even if it kills me
I'm gonna smile

Kiss me once for the good times, baby
Kiss me twice for goodbye
You can't help how you don't feel
And it doesn't matter why
Give me a chance to bow out gracefully
'Cause that's how I want you to remember me

I'm gonna smile
'Cause I wanna see you happy
Laugh,
So you can't see me cry
I'm gonna let you go in style
And even if it kills me
I'm gonna smile

Video Killed the Radio Star

Oh dear. My turn to get tagged by Adrian.
Here goes:

Total volume of music on my computer: Err...none, sadly. Most of my music are in my home office’s computer (5GB there). I do have 4GB of music in my iPod Mini.

The last CD I bought was:
大切な人 (Taisetsuna hito) by
植村花菜 (Uemura Hana)

Song playing right now: Dream a Dream (Elysium) by Charlotte Church

Five songs that mean a lot to me:

  • Somewhere Out There by Linda Ronstadt & James Ingram
  • Meguriai by Chage & Aska
  • We Are The Reason by Avalon
  • It Might Be You by Stephen Bishop
  • Sealed With A Kiss by Jason Donovan

Three* people I am passing this on to:

  • Charmedcookie because she hardly blogs, thus giving me nothing much to read (girl, your pages are bare!)
  • Evanescent because you have waaaay too much stuff on your blogs (keep 'em coming though!), and one more wouldn't hurt :)
  • Swordlessknight (whose shall remain anonymous - you know who you are) because I think he should at least write something in his blog.

Just quote and fill in the details as above.

* It was originally supposed to be sent to five people, but I only personally knew three people who blog, so there.

Beautiful Silence

The never ending loneliness
Of someone left behind
The blood drips on the carpet
That was once clean in her mind

Now it's torn to shreds
Like her fragile memory
No one comes to help her
In her silent reverie

Night after night she sits alone
Staring at the stars
Wondering why no one can hear her pain
But everyone sees her scars

Back in Japan

Well, I'm finally back in Japan, after 2 months of "rest" at home. The weather's been good so far. Spring slowly drifting away; the temperature's much warmer now. Still, it's lovely being outside in the cool weather (NOT in the afternoon though - it can be over 25C!). Wheat is being planted in every available piece of land, no matter big or small, in Takasaki. Soon, the mosquitoes will come. Damnit.

Work is okay. Doing more here than I did back home. The last two months have been deadwood for me. More motivated to work here. Probably because I'm in the midst of workoholic Jappies. Still, I make sure I do not go back late. I use the "there-are-no-street-lamps-on-my-way-back" excuse. It works :)

'Twas good to see my Japanese friends again. It's going to take a bit of getting used to to talking REAL slowly again. They were thrilled when I gave them *ahem* less-than-genuine Louis Vuitton bags. These bags sell like hotcakes here (original ones, mind you). Sometimes I wonder ... heck, do these Jappies crap money? Seriously, my friend spent almost all of her bonus last year on a Louis Vuitton handbag. Geez!! A friend told me that he saw school girls carrying Coach paperbags (with the original merchandise in it, no doubt) once. Heck, when I was their age, I couldn't even afford bloody Reeboks!!

Sigh.

Off to Japan

Finally gotten my air tickets, visa and everything ready for my trip to Japan this Sunday. It’s been quite a hurdle the past week, trying to get these sorted out. Anyhoos, lots to do now. And to pack!! I’m bringing a smaller bag with me this time, and believe me, trying to stuff as much as I can into the bag can be quite a feat. I’m packing lots of DVDs and computer games with me this time, thanks to my new lappy, I can, at least, have a bit of entertainment in my room in Japan rather than watching Japanese TV programs which I can’t make heads or tails of.

My blogs for the next two months will be from the land of the rising sun. It could be good, it could be bad…who knows?

Stay tuned.

Aargh

I am majorly pissed off at work today. It's like, one snag after another. Seriously, how much more of this can I take?

I know I'm supposed to learn how to view problems objectively, and to tackle them with a calm mind...but come on, SOME people simply just TRY your patience!! I mean, heck, no one's going to say you're mute if you just don't say a word! Or when we have SOME people who think that they're all that, and above everybody else, and that they think they can just do whatever they want. Grrr! Thank goodness I had someone to vent my frustrations on. The poor thing had to listen to me rant on for a good half hour before I could calm down.

I feel like punching something. Poor pillow's so going to get it later.
...

Sigh. Now that I've calmed down, I guess all I can do right now is pray that everything goes well. They say that in every cloud, there's a silver lining. I hope I get to see that soon.

Lessons

Have you ever had one of those days when things were not good, and the bad ones just keep crashing down on you? It just comes to the point where you go, "Oh for the love of me, what else could go wrong??!!"

That was how today was for me. The day definitely did NOT start off well (my first words of the day were pretty foul, and I hate that, because this means that it was NOT a good sign of good things to come for the day). Plus I didn't get enough sleep, so driving to work so early in the morning definitely was a challenge.

I was a bundle of nerves today. Something which I wanted to happen almost did not materialise, and I was a nervous wreck. I couldn't function properly and I couldn't think straight. Midday, I asked the good Lord for wisdom to do the right thing. In the afternoon, everything finally became normal again.

Sometimes I think that I've grown up in many ways, and yet other times, I realised I still have so much to learn. Like learning to be calm in times of chaos and trouble (I often just press the PANIC button). Learning to ask for help. Learning to be brave. And learning to accept things that you cannot change.

Sigh. Lessons in life indeed.

Got Wood?

Mothering Sunday.

Treated Mumsy to a lovely lunch at a nice Western restaurant downtown. Sure enough, Pops, Auntie and Uncle followed as well. We had a good time, laughing and enjoying our lunch. When the grilled chicken came, typical Chinese Uncle asked for soy sauce (he refused to use the table salt, saying that too much salt intake is not good for the blood pressure, despite the chicken being drenched in Ajinomoto).

After a hearty lunch, Chinese Uncle asked the Malay-waitress-in-the-nice-Western-restaurant, "Ada kayu ke?"

He was asking for toothpicks.

Mother's Day Around the Corner

Cousin J reminded me of Mother's Day this coming Sunday. Damnit. Totally forgot about it. I bought Mumsy very lovely, but totally useless Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries last year, as in her own words "Aiya... so pretty, how to use?". They're still sitting in her cupboard, unopened.

Just what do you get for mummy dearest on Mother's Day? First of all, it's got to be thoughtful. Flowers are lovely, but come on, they die after a week or two, and that's money down the drain. Perfume? She'll probably hate the stuff you get her, as she's so used to her Dior's Poison, or her Chanel No. 5, which, in my opinion, are strong enough to choke a cat. A VCR player? Hah...I can imagine Mumsy trying to play a video cassette on the VCR, let alone learn how to program the darn thing. A card's a nice and thoughtful gesture, which you can use to write your own thoughts to your beloved mother. She thinks "Heck, she's earning quite a bit now, and all I get is a bloomin' card?"

Sigh. Methinks I'll treat Mumsy to a lovely meal on Sunday. That is, if the freeloaders* don't start comin' around.

Heh.

Hark, A New Day!

Finally making my mark on this blog thingamajig which everyone's so hyped up about. Hope it's not going to be one of 'em "new broom sweeps clean" thing again, which I am so often guilty about.

I think I'm addicted to blogs... reading 'em, I mean. It seems rather freaky, voyeuristic even, don't you think? Reading the lives of utter strangers, relating to them, up to the point which, in a moment, you feel as though you know them; when, in truth, they can turn out to be some sort of psycho killers or something *shrug*. Geez.

Well, here's to me, and to whoever who reads this - life is short, so make it a happy one. And blog, so that I may read it as well.
