Update: Finally managed to get the torn-paper background working on IE. Hope it continues to work on other browsers too.
I was just checking out my blog statistics, and realised that most of my readers use Internet Explorer as their web browser.
I designed my template in order to work on as many browsers as possible. Before I added the torn-paper look on the background, the template was tested on Firefox, Internet Explorer and Opera, and it looked fine on three browsers. However, when I added the torn-paper look, it disappeared on IE.
A question - do y'all actually see the torn-paper background, as shown above? Or do you only see a white background? Apparently it only works on Firefox (at the moment; I have yet to test it out on Opera and other browsers). Something's wrong with my CSS, I'm sure of it, but I have no idea how to fix it. I only use Firefox, thus I didn't see this problem until much later. Obviously I can't force everyone to use Firefox (which I honestly think y'all should; it's a lot more stable than IE, that's for sure), so I have to get this fixed on IE as well.
Any ideas? Any assistance is much appreciated. Also, if you use other browsers, it'd be great if you could just let me know if any part of the layout's not working. Thanks!

no, i don't see torn paper :( I would be happy just to be able to work photoshop on pictures so I can do pretty headers or pics like yours :P Sorry I'm no help am i?
I never cared whether my users are using IE or not. All I care is for them to use Firefox. If they're using IE, they should die and die they should!
BTW, I have most of 50/50, IE vs Firefox... so no complain here. Hehehe...
I don't see torn paper either and it's cos I am using IE, but it doesn't matter as long as the content is there.
By the way, I think your site design is fantastic!
Woot! I see the torn paper!!! :D:D Guess you got IE to work for you after all :D
which IE version are you refering to?
i can see it with my IE 6 now.
IE 7 does have some issues with css.
Paris: Hehehe, just tweaked a bit of the CSS to get it working. Finally! :p
Jase: Oh well, as much as I tried to convince people to use Firefox, there'll always be those who are too comfortable with IE to make that change. Honestly I wouldn't have switched to Firefox if I hadn't faced troubles with email at work.
Giddy Tiger: Hey hey, thanks! Glad you liked it. Do come back for more ;)
Jo: Oh I actually just fixed it. I have IE6 at work, and IE7 at home, but I'd rather much prefer to use Firefox instead. Anyways glad to know you can see it now :D
Tine, I am a fan of your template. Love the clean and yet feminine template. As for that new torn paper template… thing is, I can only see the torn paper showing on the right hand side of my Firefox browser but not on the other side as well. The weirdest is that, if I were to enlarge my browser screen… that torn paper template would disappear altogether. Just like magic. Yeah, I usually minimized my browser screen for personal reason. Go figure. LOL.
Just in case you need to know what browser type I am currently using, it’s called Portable Firefox version 2.0.0.3 – it runs on my thumbdrive for portability purposes. Very handy. I fell in love with Firefox since middle of last year when I found this nifty little program which can actually run on a thumbdrive. How neat is that. I am now using a galore of USB portable applications.
Kleio: Awww thanks!! :D
Alamak? Serious? Okok, will download Firefox Portable and check it the blog on it. What the ..??
What other USB portable apps are there? Mind sharing?
I am to share it with you ;)
Here it is.. just go check it out here - http://portableapps.com/. Actually there are many more from other sites. But do practice cautions when using apps from unknown sources other that the one I had just suggested.
Enjoy.
i'm gonna make my own blog
